A sex-positive and sex education site geared specifically to adolescents. The site includes articles, advice and sexuality information for teens and young adults.

Kinsey Institute

The Kinsey Institute is affiliated with Indiana University and conducts research on sex, gender and reproduction. Their website includes an online newsletter, online texts from the vast Kinsey library and podcasts about sexuality and sexual health.

AASECT

The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) is the premier professional organization dedicated to promoting an understanding of human sexuality and sexual behavior.  This website contains a national directory of Certified Sex Therapists.

MSTI

Modern Sex Therapy Institutes is a great place to get training on any aspect of sex therapy. I co-direct their program of certification for transgender affirmative care.

Human Rights Campaign

The Human Rights Campaign is the largest organization fighting for the civil rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans. The organization currently has over 1.5 million members, all focused on making true equality for all possible. The organization has a number of research publications outlining equality indexes on areas such as healthcare, employers, states and corporations.

The National Center for Transgender Equality

As America’s premier social justice advocacy organization for transgender individuals, NCTE works at the federal, state and local levels to leverage political capital and change laws encouraging discriminatory behavior. The organization has a particularly helpful “Know Your Rights” section of their website with information on housing, healthcare, employment, and more.

PFLAG

PFLAG is the first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their parents and families, and allies. Founded in 1973 by the mother of a gay son, it has expanded its mission from supporting parents of lesbians and gay people to supporting families with trans and nonbinary children as well.

The Trevor Project

With suicide rates noticeably higher among LGBTQ youth than their straight peers, the mission of The Trevor Project is incredibly important. By providing a 24/7-crisis intervention service, online community, and educational programs, the organization seeks to be both life saving and life-affirming.

 

The Bisexual Resource Center

The Bisexual Resource Center, founded in 1985, is the oldest national bi organization in the U.S. that advocates for bisexual visibility and raises awareness about bisexuality throughout the LGBT and straight communities.

WPATH

The World Professional Association for Transgender Health is the official site for the WPATH Standards of Care (SOC) . These are the ethical and scientific guidelines for how medical and mental health professionals should treat and support transgender people who desire hormonal or surgical treatments to transition.

CARAS

Community-Academic Consortium for Research on Alternative Sexualities is an organization which supports and disseminates research on BDSM/kink/leather/fetish sexualities and non-monogamous relationships.

FetLife

Fetlife is the social network for the BDSM, fetish, and kinky community. It functions as a combination of Facebook, dating site, and discussion group forum for this community.

 

NCSF

The National Coalition for Sexual Freedom is an advocacy and educational organization which supports the legal and civil rights of consenting adults in the BDSM-Leather- Fetish, Swing and Polyamory communities. This site also has the Kink Aware Professionals (KAP) Directory.

Loving More

Loving More is one of the largest national organizations dedicated to providing education and support to people who identify as polyamorous.

AVEN

The Asexuality Visibility and Education Network (AVEN) hosts the world's largest online asexual community as well as a large archive of resources on asexuality.
